An early morning shooting at the Golden Greek restaurant in New Bedford has left one man hospitalized.

New Bedford police were called to the Golden Greek on Coggeshall St around 2:30 on Saturday morning after reports of shots fired.

They say upon arrival there was a male victim with a gunshot wound to his ribs and several spent casings were found inside the restaurant.

The victim was conscience and alert when police arrived and was taken to Rhode Island Hospital. At the time we spoke to police he was undergoing surgery and his condition was unknown.

Police say ShotSpotter reported additional gun fire about a block away from the Golden Greek a short time after the restaurant shooting and spent casings were found at that scene as well.
