A man is robbed during an attempted item exchange.

New Bedford Police say a man set up a meeting at the corner of Robeson St. and Cottage St. with a man whom he knew as Tyvon Rodrigues to sell an iPhone 6 and six phone cases.

Rodrigues was accompanied to the meeting by an unknown man who pointed a gun at the victim.

The victim surrendered the items and some cash.

Police say a warrant is being sought for the arrest of 20-year-old Tyvon Rodrigues, on a charge of armed robbery.

Rodrigues had a last known address in New Bedford.

Police remind the public that those wishing to engage in a transaction that an Internet Purchase Safe Exchange Zone is available outside police headquarters at 871 Rockdale Ave. and that the location is monitored by cameras 24 hours a day.
