Man Reports Being Injured During Unarmed Robbery in New Bedford

NEW BEDFORD - New Bedford Police are investigating a report of an unarmed robbery Wednesday night.

Police confirmed the report, saying a male victim in his 30's told police that he was robbed in the area of 2201 Purchase Street before 11:30 p.m. Wednesday. The man received minor injuries during the incident, but refused medical treatment.

Police did not disclose what was reported stolen from the man. Police also would not provide a description of the suspect, or if there was more than one suspect.
