Man Overdoses in Downtown New Bedford Library, Dies

NEW BEDFORD - New Bedford Police say a 57-year-old city man has died of an apparent overdose after being found in the City's main library.

Police and medics were called to the New Bedford Free Public Library on Pleasant Street before 7 P.M. Tuesday night for an unresponsive man in the restroom. First responders administered several doses of Narcan before the man was taken to St. Luke's Hospital. The man was pronounced dead at 7:20 p.m.
