WAREHAM — On Sunday at about 8:15 p.m., Officers from the Wareham Police Department were called to the 7-Eleven Store on Cranberry Highway. An employee of the store had called the police to report a man who was attempting to vandalize the store.

After arriving at the store, police arrested Charles Babb, 51, of East Wareham. Mr. Babb was taken into custody after police report he intentionally pushed the cash register off of the counter. When the employee called for help, officers say Babb grabbed the phone and threw it, breaking it.

After being placed under arrest, Mr. Babb was transported to police headquarters where he found to be in possession of ammunition. Mr. Babb is charged with, vandalizing property, and illegal possession of ammunition.
