Man Dies After Being Hit By A Vehicle On Sconticut Neck Road

A 53-year old Fairhaven man was killed Saturday night after being struck by a car on Sconticut Neck Road.

The District Attorney's Office says Police responded to an area near Gilbert St. after receiving a phone call saying that a man was lying on the side of the road.  Spokesman Greg Milioti says David McManus of Fairhaven was transported to St. Luke's Hospital, but was pronounced dead a short time later.

Miliote says the driver of the car also contacted police shortly after 10pm. He says the driver has been questioned, and there is no indication that alcohol was involved.

No charges have been filed.  Fairhaven and State Police continue to investigate
