A Fall River man is facing charges following a Wednesday night car jacking in North Dartmouth.

Detective Kyle Costa says the victim, identified as 38-year-old New Bedford woman, was sitting in the parking lot of her car at the Best Buy at 29 Faunce Corner Rd. waiting for her son to get out of work.

At around 9:30 p.m. she was approached by the suspect, later identified as 47-year-old Jeffrey Shawn Link, who forced his way into her vehicle and struck her in the head with a bottle before driving away.

The victim sustained non-life threatening injuries and was taken to St. Luke's Hospital.

Link was later located in New Bedford, where he was arrested by detectives on charges of Armed Carjacking, A&B with a Dangerous Weapon, Threats to Commit a Crime, and Assault to Maim.
