State police say a 26-year-old man has turned himself in and has been charged in connection with an accident that killed a motorcyclist on Route 44 in Carver.

Authorities say Andrew Best of Carver walked into the Carver police station Sunday afternoon and said he was the driver of the vehicle that collided with the motorcycle. He was charged with motor vehicle homicide and leaving the scene of a fatal accident.

Best is detained without bail and is expected be arraigned Monday in Wareham District Court. It's not clear if he has a lawyer.

State police say 36-year-old Shane Reilly of Halifax was riding a 2005 Harley Davidson when he was struck and killed early Sunday morning.
