State Police say they found 42 open vodka nip bottles during a traffic stop on Route 24 in Freetown Sunday night.

A trooper stopped a dodge pickup truck at around 530 p.m. for motor vehicle violations.

During an investigation the truck's driver, identified as 26-year-old James Woodward of Assonet, was found to be intoxicated with several open bottles of liquor in the truck including 42 "nip" bottles of vodka.

Woodward was taken into custody and arraigned in Fall River District Court Monday on charges of Operating under the influence of liquor, Negligent operation of a motor vehicle, Possession of open container of alcohol in a motor vehicle, and Marked lanes violation
