A suspect is facing illegal hunting charges following his arrest in Dartmouth Wednesday night.

Massachusetts Environmental Police say they received a call from Dartmouth Police over an individual hunting from a vehicle.

Upon arrival they were met by a Dartmouth Police Officer who told them he saw the driver using a light to illuminate the fields and stopped the vehicle.

Environmental Police say that, after further investigation, the suspect was arrested on charges of operating a motor vehicle with a suspended license (subsequent offense), hunting from a motor vehicle, hunting during a closed season (at night), hunting by artificial light, and improper use of a spotlight from a motor vehicle.

The suspect was scheduled to be arraigned in New Bedford District Court on Thursday.
