Rochester Police arrested a man in connection with a break in at The Rochester Golf Course on July 16.

Police say they received a call from the owner who discovered that his business had been broken into and cash had been stolen.

After studying surveillance footage, officers identified the suspect as 31-year-old Michael Eldridge of Rochester and issued a warrant for his arrest.

Following an investigation, which involved detectives from Fairhaven, Mattapoisett, and Acushnet, Eldridge was located Thursday morning in a friend's vehicle which was driving in New Bedford.

He was arrested without incident at the McDonald's on Coggeshall St. in New Bedford.

Eldridge was then taken to the Rochester Police Station where, police say, he confessed to the break-in.

He was arraigned Thursday in Wareham District Court on charges of breaking and entering in the night time, malicious destruction of property over $250, malicious destruction of property under $250, breaking into a depository, larceny from a building, larceny over $250 and larceny under $250.

He is currently being held at the Plymouth County House of Correction.
