Make A Promise To Get Fit This Year

Have you thought about getting fit, only to let yourself down time after time? What is it that held you back? Did you simply give up or did you fail to maintain the momentum you had when you initially started? All of these are common reasons for giving up the battle to whip your body back into shape. But your battle doesn’t have to end there. Actor, model and fitness expert Christian Boeving checks in with his prescription for a better you in 2014.

The Promise

“Make the promise to get in shape to someone you hold important in your life,” Christian suggests. The person to help you could be your husband or wife, best friend, etc. “Ask them to help make you accountable for your promise. Better yet, ask if they’ll join you on your quest for your personal fitness journey.”

Picture Perfect

"Tell yourself you’re looking forward to the work that lies ahead and that the only person who can stop you from having that body you want is YOU!"We’ve all imagined that we look like a matinee idol or had the figure of the model on the cover of our favorite fashion magazine. But these fantasies don’t have to be mere pipe dreams. “Find a picture of someone whose body you admire and can realistically see yourself achieving, yourself, with hard work and dedication,” Christian says.

“Pin that picture on your refrigerator, office wall or on your computer. Look at it on a regular basis, see YOURSELF as that image, KNOW what you’re going to need to do to get there, accept the fact that this is a LIFESTYLE change, not a quick fix. Tell yourself you’re looking forward to the work that lies ahead and that the only person who can stop you from having that body you want is YOU!”

So the next time you feel tempted to reach for another Oreo, remember that image you have taped to your fridge and the promise you made to your friend or loved one, or most importantly, yourself. Then put it down and dig a little deeper, resolving to make your dreams of a slimmer you a reality!
