This week the Southcoast got it's first significant snowfall of the winter with up to four inches reported in New Bedford.

While the storm has come and gone forecasters are saying you should put those shovels down yet.

M.L. Baron of the West Island Observatory told WBSM's Phil Paleologos that there could be a storm on the horizon this weekend.

"We're looking at a gig, perhaps Saturday night into Sunday, whatever actually goes down, that's possibly the timeframe where this storm is going to influence the Southcoast," said Baron.

However, Baron says that it's still early and it will be a few more days until forecasters can start to get an accurate idea of what the storm will be like.

"Southeastern New England in particular, we have to deal with the ocean, whether it's a northeasterly threat, southeasterly threat, we get it on both sides," said Baron "so this is a real situation where we don't know, until probably 72 hours before the event, to really nail it down."
