State police are warning drivers to be careful when driving through construction zones after releasing a video of a near miss between a speeding car and a stationary cruiser.

The video taken inside the O'Neill Tunnel in Boston earlier this month shows the car swerving a split second before rear-ending the cruiser, then fish-tailing down the highway before regaining control.

The trooper inside the car, which had its blue lights flashing, immediately pulls away and pursues the car.

The trooper was parked in the tunnel to alert motorists that the two left lanes were close for maintenance.

Police say they released the video to remind motorists to slow down and approach construction zones with caution.
