A company from California will have to pay a $2 million fine for claiming it can improve your brain function.

According to KDRV 12 in Medford, Oregon, the Luminosity app was billed as a tool to fire up academic performance and fight disease like dementia.  The federal trade commission states that the claims mislead consumers, because there is no science to back it up.

Federal officials stated that Lumos Labs Company has agreed to a settlement.
