‘Lucky’ Somerset Resident Celebrates Historic Win

A Somerset woman has made history with her recent lottery win.

Massachusetts State Lottery officials say Kathleen Laprise is the first one million dollar prize winner in the "Lucky Shamrocks" instant game.

Laprise opted for a one-time cash payment of $650,000 (before taxes) and says she plans to use her winnings to buy a house.

Joe's Market, located at 1132 Robeson St. in Fall River, will receive a $10,000 bonus for selling the winning ticket.
