Administrators flung open their doors to parents at a community forum at Normandin Middle School Wednesday night. Superintendent Dr. Pia Durkin, along with the principals of the city's middle schools, assured parents they want better lines of communication and reduced bullying incidents as much as they do.

Dr. Durkin pointed out parents need to be there for their kids, as the middle school years can be very confusing.

Jimmy Papas has a daughter attending Roosevelt Middle School. He noted the meek attendance at last night's meeting.

Other parents addressed a lack of respect for the students from the teachers.

Follow-up meetings are being planned in response to the concerns raised last night.
