Hundreds of students from all over the city took part in a volunteer march in honor of the late Martin Luther King, Jr. Monday afternoon.

The students marched from Normandin Middle School to Gifts To Give in Acushnet.

Before the march, students learned more about the late Dr. King and his message for equality.

Tatia from Keith Middle School hopes to take what she learned during the program and spread the message.

Once the students arrived at Gifts To Give, they volunteered by processing donations and put together gift packs.

UMass Dartmouth students also volunteered as part of their SouthCoast Serves program.
