This sitcom defines the "golly gee" wholesomeness of 1950s and `60s TV, where dad Ward Cleaver always gets home in time for dinner, mom June cleans the house wearing a dress and pearls, and kids Wally and the Beav always learn a lesson by the end of the episode. And don't forget, Wally's friend, Eddie Haskell, causes trouble while kissing up to Mr. and Mrs. Cleaver. That was then. Just recently, Mike Thomas, Sports Editor of the Fall River Herald News, was in the studio with his terrific 11-year-old daughter and our co-host, Lilly. Mike was telling me about his column Celebrity Super Bowl Picks, where the day before the Super Bowl, various well known celebs offer their prediction on who's going to win the big game.

One of Mike's returning celebrities is Jerry Mathers, iconic child actor of Leave It To Beaver. That's interesting enough, but then Mike showed me some old photographs from the Herald News, and I was surprised to see "Beav" in front of the WBSM microphone! We tried to figure out why the TV star would be in photos with the WBSM mic logo and figured it must have been during a press conference of some kind. If anyone can identify where these photos were taken, please contact me at phil@wbsm.com. Enjoy the photos, and thanks to Mike Thomas and the archives of the Fall River Herald News!
