Lawmaker Wants Illegal Immigrant Benefit Ban

A lawmaker from Andover has renewed his fight to prevent illegal immigrants from getting state benefits.  State Rep. James Lyons says he and other Republicans have filed a bill to make sure state benefits go only to U.S. citizens and legal immigrants.

The Patrick administration admitted to Lyons it paid 270-million in health care for illegal immigrants in fiscal 2011.
