The last original World War Two Navajo Code Talker is dead.  Chester Nez died of kidney failure this morning in New Mexico at age 93.

Twenty-nine Navajo soldiers developed a code derived from their native language that the Japanese could never break.

Nez and his 28 fellow Navajo U.S. Marines received Congressional Gold Medals for their contributions to the U.S. war effort.  (Metro Networks, Inc.)
