LAPD Collect Two Rocket Launchers At Gun “Buy-Back” Program

Stocktrek Images

You’ve heard of a gun “buy-back” program haven’t you? We’ve had them here in New Bedford. That’s when you are invited to turn in an unwanted gun and receive something in return.

Wednesday in Los Angeles, police set a record collecting 2,037 weapons. That included 75 assault weapons, and 2 rocket launchers! I have no info on who had the rocket launchers, or why but I have to admit I’m glad they’re off the streets!

LAPD said they usually have the gun buy-back on Mother’s Day, but decided to do it now since everyone is talking about guns after the shooting in Newtown, CT.
