Landmark Paul Revere Sign To Come Down

The Paul Revere sign off Interstate 195 in New Bedford is coming down for repairs. 

City officials say the sign needs a complete overhaul. 

Ken Blanchard is the city's Acting Commissioner of Public Facilities....

Blanchard says the sign has been "in the weather" for 15 years, and is now deteriorating. 

Its estimated the repairs will cost about $300,000.  The City is currently looking at possible funding sources. 

Blanchard says the City is also looking for a new site that's more "maintenance-friendly."
