In Japanese, konichiwa means hello (in the daytime up to the afternoon). To say good morning, think of one of our states, and say ohayo! On Sunday, May 1 from 11 - 4 pm immerse yourself in all things Japanese! Cooke Memorial Park, Fairhaven at the corner of Cherry & Pilgrim Streets will be the venue for a Japanese Festival featuring Japanese(taiko) drumming & kempo karate, names written in Japanese, American & Japanese craft vendors, kamishibai (paper theater - Manjiro story) plus local school children vocalists!

A value combo ticket is only $20 for adults, under 12 - $10 that will include a Bento picnic box lunch (no raw items) kimono and quilt displays, Whitfield-Manjiro Friendship Museum tour, ikebana flower demo and much more!

To reserve tickets call Gerry Rooney at 508-995-1219 or email Gerry@WMFriendshipHouse.org. Sponsored by the Whitfield-Manjiro Friendship Society and the Fairhaven Colonial Club.
