KG Urban Enterprises says its proposed casino deal in New Bedford is all but dead.

Former NBA Commissioner David Stern, representing KG Urban, a firm owned by his son, says he and the Mayor could not come to an agreement on the Cannon Street site...

Stern says those terms were unacceptable. He says KG Urban has spent $12 million over the past eight years with an eye toward that waterfront location.

But Mayor Mitchell says he's repeatedly questioned the viability of Cannon Street. He says a recent study by Sasaki Associates identifies some drawbacks...

Mitchell says if KG Urban wants to listen to the city's concerns, his door is still open.

But David Stern says the Mayor's stance is a grave disappointment to him. He says its too late for the company to switch gears and consider another site.
