KG Urban Enterprises is less than one month away from the next crucial deadline in their mission to obtain a casino license. Last month, the Massachusetts Gaming Commission extended the deadline for license application submissions to May 4, giving KG Urban time to acquire funding for the proposed resort casino in New Bedford.

Speaking on his weekly radio program, Mayor Jon Mitchell says he has no doubt KG Urban will be able to secure the necessary funds. "They have relationships with investors, mostly private equity folks based in New York. And they're working. They've said repeatedly and I've said publicly they don't have any doubt they can get money lined up."

Mitchell says he's offered his help as the Mayor of New Bedford, and is willing to show potential investors around the City and convince them to invest.
