Kevin Faulk Elected Into New England Patriots Hall of Fame

Faulk was selected by the fans, who chose the running back over cornerback Raymond Clayborn and linebacker Mike Vrabel.

The former LSU Tiger, who was selected by New England in the second round of the 1999 NFL Draft, spent all 13 years of his career with the Patriots. Over that time, Faulk excelled in multiple roles in the backfield and on special teams.

In 161 games, Faulk carried the ball 864 times for 3,607 yards and caught 431 passes for another 3,701 yards, totaling 31 total scores (16 rushing/15 receiving). He also excelled in both the kick and punt return games, returning 181 kickoffs for 4,098 yards and two touchdowns and 101 punts for 943 yards.

Faulk's illustrious career also places him on top of the Patriot record books as the team's all-time leader in all-purpose yards (12,349), kickoff return yards and total return yards (5,041).

Patriots owner Robert Kraft congratulated Faulk on his honor, making note of his work both on and off the field, helping the team win multiple titles but also remaining a key figure in volunteer work. He also spoke about Faulk's "selfless and tireless" contributions to the team.

Faulk also spoke about the honor on a conference call, shortly after being informed of his selection.

The formal induction for Faulk will take place on Monday, August 1 on the NRG Plaza outside Gillette Stadium. The event is free and open to the public, so come out and bring the family. It will be a nice way to honor one of the greatest players in Patriots history.
