A major fund-raiser Friday at the Kennedy-Donovan Center in New Bedford.

The 22nd Annual Rockathon is scheduled for 9:30am at the New Bedford Campus at County and Hawthorne Streets.

Dozens of volunteers will be stationed in rocking chairs, raising money for Kennedy-Donovan programs.

Director of Quality Assurance Tammy Wunschel tells WBSM's Phil Paleologos, the revenue from the fund-raiser is important. "The funding is used to buy equipment, specialized supplies, to allow community trips for day-habilitation programs, so its much needed and much appreciated, and we get great community support," said Wunschel.

Organizers hope to raise about $5,000. The Rockathon also features music and food. It runs from 9:30 to 2pm rain or shine.
