The celebration of an extraordinary life takes place this weekend in Fairhaven.

Many area residents are expected to participate in a fundraiser walk in the memory of Katie Brienzo to benefit the M.O.L.I.F.E. organization.

29 year old Katie was killed by a hit-and-run driver last November while crossing Sconticut Neck Road.

Though Katie was developmentally disabled, M.O.L.I.F.E. founder and town selectman Charles Murphy says that didn't stop her from living life to the fullest.

Katie was a regular at M.O.L.I.F.E., volunteering for countless hours in the food pantry. Katie also began her own self-advocacy group, Hopes and Dreams, which still carries on today.

The 2012 Katie Brienzo Memorial Walk to benefit M.O.L.I.F.E. takes place this Saturday at the Our Lady of Angels feast grounds on Jesse Street in Fairhaven. Registration begins at 11am, with the walk at noon.
