"Jurassic World" has officially devoured both global and domestic opening records.

Universal Pictures yesterday reported that the movie scored 208.8-million-dollars at the U.S. box office in its debut weekend, eclipsing "The Avengers" opening three years ago.

The fourth in the dino thriller franchise is the first film to ever make more than 500-million in a single weekend.

The worldwide number was adjusted yesterday, to upwards of 524-million.  (Metro Networks Inc.)
