The district attorney's office prosecuting a Plainville teen for reportedly convincing a friend to commit suicide says there is no conflict of interest.

Bristol County District Attorney Thomas Quinn has recused himself from the case because he is related to the victim.

Lawyers for 18-year-old Michelle Carter want prosecutors from another county to handle the case. A Juvenile Court judge on Thursday took the matter under advisement.

Prosecutors say Carter texted with Conrad Roy moments before his death last July encouraging him to commit suicide.

She is charged with involuntary manslaughter
