Judge Denies Request By Widow Of Bulger Victim

The widow of one of James ``Whitey'' Bulger's victims has had her request for a larger share of the convicted mobster's assets denied. A federal judge turned down Elaine Barrett's request for 25 percent of the $822,000 cash and other assets seized from the gangster and said it will be split evenly among families of all 19 people he was accused of killing.  Barrett, whose husband Arthur ``Bucky'' Barrett was killed by Bulger in South Boston in 1983, argued for the larger share based in part on her husband's ``extraordinary suffering'' and the fact jurors found Bulger not guilty of seven of the 19 slayings he was charged with and could not reach a verdict on another.
