The Chandler Jones Sunday morning hospitalization fiasco has been a top media story over the past few days. Each day, it seems more information regarding the bizarre story finds its way out and today is no exception.

Reports today have shown that Foxboro Police Officer David J. Foscaldo's written report of Jones' visit to the station offers context to the wacky situation.

In his report Foscaldo mentioned that Jones arrived at the station shirtless and that he was scurrying through a portion of the station's parking lot prior to making a beeline for the station's rear door.

Foscaldo went on to write that Jones then dropped to his knees, interlocked his fingers and placed his hands directly behind his head. He said the Patriots' star held the position shortly before slowly moving toward the ground and appeared to be "actively praying or worshiping."

Foscaldo also mentioned that it was clear that Jones was "polite, cooperative and respectful" throughout the course of his dealing with the Police, though that it was evident that he was "desperately seeking our assistance."

As for Jones, himself, the man at the center of this strange tale stood in front of the media today, for the first time since the news initially broke.

In a quick statement, the first time pro bowler apologized to the fans and the team by saying:

“I want to start off by saying I made a pretty stupid mistake this weekend. Right now, my main focus is on becoming the best player I can be and helping the team. We’re focused on Kansas City.”

From there, Jones did not answer any questions involving the incident, insisting that his sole focus right now  is to be the best player he can be against Kansas City.

Jones is an extremely important player for New England, as he has led the team this season in sacks with 12.5 total take downs.

It is unknown whether the star defensive end will receive a penalty from the team that affects his contribution to the game Saturday, as head coach Bill Belichick sarcastically commented that he could just send the media a Xerox of the game plan when asked about possible discipline.
