The top of Johnny Pesky’s retired number 6 was scribbled on outside of Fenway Park.

According to Fox 25, the Boston Red Sox stated that the vandalism is unfortunate, but graffiti is common in the area and they are looking to clean it up as soon as possible.

Pesky played for the Boston Red Sox in the early 1940’s and 1950’s and served the Red Sox for six decades as everything from a player to an executive. The right field foul pole is also named after Pesky and nicknamed “Pesky’s Pole.” He died in 2012 at the age of 92.
