While at a fundraiser for Massachusetts senate candidate Ed Markey, vice president Joe Biden tackled a number of subjects including the voices of two freshman GOP senators.

According to Yahoo, Biden can't believe that two freshman senators are able to control some of the more seasoned republican senators. When talking about his call for background checks with firearms, Biden said he called 17 senators, 9 of them republicans, and the republicans said they just didn't want to go up against the two.

So who were the two that Biden was referring to? Ted Cruz and Rand Paul. He is baffled at how they rose to such prominence so quickly.

I’m not talking about the character or even the quality of the minds of the people I’m going to mention. But the last thing in the world we need now is someone who will go down to the United States Senate and support, support the new senator from Kentucky -- or the old senator from Kentucky. Think about this. Have you ever seen a time when two freshman senators are able to cower the bulk of the Republican Party in the Senate?
