Miami Marlins outfielder Giancarlo Stanton is getting the largest contract in North American sports history.

CBSSports.com reports the 25-year-old has agreed to a 13-year, 325-million-dollar deal.  An official announcement is expected on Wednesday.

The "New York Daily News" reports the contract includes an opt-out clause after the 2020 season.

Stanton finished second to Dodgers pitcher Clayton Kershaw in this year's National League MVP voting after batting .288 with 37 home runs and 105 RBI.

The Marlins had the lowest payroll in baseball this past season at less than 44-million-dollars.  (Metro Networks Inc.)
