Dartmouth voters today are choosing between a political newcomer and a familiar face to fill a vacancy on the town's Select Board.

Patrick Curran is a former Court Magistrate in New Mexico who's lived in Dartmouth for about eight months.  John George is a former Selectman and State Representative and serves on the town's Board of Appeals.  They're vying to fill the seat being vacated by Joseph Michaud, who decided not to seek re-election.

Also, there are seven candidates running for five seats on the newly created Board of Parks and Recreation.

There are also two non binding ballot questions that are sparking interest.  One asks whether solar farms belong in residential areas, and what changes should be made, if any, to the structure of town government.

Dartmouth polls are open until 8 pm..\

It's also election day in Wareham where voters will choose between four candidates for two seats on the Board of Selectmen. The polls there are open until 8 pm.
