I guess I should be used to it by now but for some reason I'm just not ready to be bombarded by Christmas or "holiday" comercials yet! They just released the Neiman Marcus Holiday Catalog, full of gift ideas that most people can't afford. I was walking through my local Lowes a couple of weeks ago and they already had the Christmas items for sale, including decorations, trees and lights. I can understand getting the stuff on the shelves when the summer items are put away.

The one thing I am not ready to see is the holiday commercials on television. It's way to early! Halloween is still weeks away and more than a month off, can't we wait until at least Halloween before we start getting bombarded with the ads?

Each year it seems like the ad's start earlier and earlier, here at the radio station there's a company that provides holiday music for websites and they say we can start playing it as soon as we want. Now I love holiday music but not until after Thanksgiving, if you start too early the burn factor gets real high on those songs. I don't know about you but I think when the holiday season is stretched out for so long, we lose how special the season really is. I guess for now I will just have to block out the ad's until after Thanksgiving and then I will get in full holiday mode.
