State health officials say that two more mosquito samples from New Bedford have tested positively for West Nile virus. The state also logged another sample of west nile-infected mosquitoes from Fall River. Stephan Burns of the Bristol County Mosquito Control Project tells WBSM news the 2 mosquitos were found in the West End.

 

Burns adds ground spraying will begin early Friday morning from 3 am to Sunrise. A truck will be traveling through those 2 neighorhoods. Residents in those areas are urged to stay indoors, keep their windows closed and keep pets indoors.  Mayor itchell is urging  residents to protect themselves including emptying standing water, wearing long-sleeved clothing at night, using insect repellent and also using bug spray on children.
