Fort Phoenix in Fairhaven will host an Independence Day Ceremony with a cannon firing on Tuesday, July 4, at 10 a.m.

According to South Coast Today.com, the ceremony will be sponsored by the Fairhaven Office of Tourism and will include the firing of the fort’s five cannons. The events will take place following the Classic Car Cruise and 4th of July Parade, which starts at Fairhaven High School at 9 a.m.

The car cruise will be sponsored by the North Fairhaven Improvement Association.  The parade on Green Street from Cushman Park to Fort Phoenix will be sponsored by the Fairhaven Lions Club.
