A man from Hyannis who robbed a K-Mart wearing a hat that read “SELFIE” was arrested during a traffic stop wearing the same hat.

According to WCVB 5, “Barnstable police were called to the K-Mart in Hyannis on a report that someone cut security wires from a jewelry display case and stole $10,000 worth of gold jewelry.”

A description of the man was provided for the officers by store surveillance video and it showed the vehicle he took off in.

Later, an officer saw a car matching the description of the vehicle traveling on Main Street in Hyannis.

The officer identified the man as James Anderson of Hyannis, who was also the man observed on the K-Mart surveillance video.

When he was pulled over, Anderson was still wearing the same “SELFIE” winter cap that he had worn into K-Mart.

“A pair of wire cutters as well as several pieces of jewelry that still had K-Mart price tags on them were allegedly inside Anderson’s car.”

Anderson was arrested and charged with larceny over $250 and possession of burglarious tools.
