Valentine's Day is right around the corner, and love is in the air. If you recently got engaged, you're probably hearing those wedding bells loud and clear too. Well, The Knot just released the '10th annual The Knot 2016 Real Weddings Study,' so you might want to take a look at these numbers before you start planning.

First off, the national average wedding cost is $35,329...and that's before you add the cost of the honeymoon. But wait, it gets worse. $35,329 is the national average, which means that a wedding cost is actually HIGHER in some areas. In Boston, be prepared to drop over $40 thousand, and in Rhode Island, you're looking at $52 thousand. And to top off this area's highest wedding cost: Cape Cod with $58,608.

You're probably thinking "That's only for people who have 200+ guests, right?" Wrong again! The average number of wedding guests is 141, with an average cost of $245 per guest. And of the 13,000 real brides and grooms questioned in this survey, 50% went over budget.

Wish me luck while I explain to my entire family why I'm deciding to elope when that day comes. #ImBroke
