The House Finance Committee has approved the first of several approvals to put a question about a proposed Tiverton casino on the November ballot.

According to WLNE 6, “the committee unanimously approved the bill on Tuesday. The General Assembly is scheduled to vote this week on sending the question to voters.”

It would guarantee to bring in at least $3 million each year to Tiverton if the casino is built.

Twin River Management Group is looking to replace Newport Grand after voters rejected a proposed expansion and to build a new 85,000-square-foot casino in Tiverton.
