The maker of Twinkies is going out of business, and lots of shoppers are unhappy.

Hostess Brands filed a request with the U.S. Bankruptcy Court in New York to liquidate the company after failing to get its striking workers to accept wage and benefits cuts.  Hostess immediately suspended operations at all of its 33 plants across the United States, including its warehouse in Wareham.  If you called the distribution center in Wareham, this is what you heard.

The closings will result in the loss of about 18,000 jobs nationwide.
