NEW BEDFORD — New Bedford Police arrest a homeless man after he reportedly broke into a van to steal some tools.

Police responded to a report of a male breaking into a van in the area of 1290 Acushnet Avenue on Wednesday morning at around 2:40 a.m. When police arrived, they found 44-year-old Norberto Carrion inside the van.

Subsequent investigation revealed that Carrion had stolen tools from inside the van. He was charged with breaking and entering into a vehicle in the nighttime for a felony, and larceny over $250.
