Legendary actress Debbie Reynolds, who was best known for her classic roles in "Singin’ in the Rain" and "The Unsinkable Molly Brown" has passed away at the age of 84.

According to WCVB 5, her son Todd Fisher confirmed the sad news Wednesday night.

"She's now with Carrie and we're all heartbroken," Fisher said from Cedars-Sinai Medical Center, where his mother was taken by ambulance on Wednesday.

Reynolds’ death comes one day after the death of her daughter, Carrie Fisher.

Fisher died on Tuesday, four days after suffering a heart attack on a flight from London to Los Angeles.

Fisher stated that the stress of his sister's death "was too much" for Reynolds.

One of the last remaining actors from Hollywood’s Golden Age, Reynolds first came to fame when she was chosen to play the role of Kathy Selden in the 1952 classic “Singin in the Rain.” A string of successful movies followed, which included 1964’s "The Unsinkable Molly Brown," for which she was nominated for a Best Actress Oscar.

Later roles in her career included Aggie Cromwell in the Disney Channel’s movie series "Halloweentown." Reynolds also had a recurring role on the sitcom "Will & Grace." Her portrayal of Bobbi Adler on the series earned Reynolds an Emmy nomination for guest actress in a comedy series in 2000.

Debbie Reynolds is survived by her son, Todd, and her granddaughter Billie Lourd.
