Holiday Sales Are Predicted To Be Up This Year

Do you plan to spend more this Christmas season? People who are paid to predict that kind of thing think you will be, with the nation's largest retail industry trade group predicting that sales will be up 4.1 percent, with Americans expected to spend at the highest rate in three years. However, the National Retail Federation says the shopping trends that have been seen in the years since the Great Recession will continue, among them, shoppers buying only if there are big discounts and a divide in spending between more financially well-off Americans and those with lower incomes.
