Hoax Device Found At Battleship Cove In Fall River

Battleship Cove and the Carousel amusment ride in Fall River were evacuated Friday afternoon after a report of a suspicious package onboard the vessel "Hiddensee".

According to Fall River Police, emergency personnel arrived at the scene around 3:30pm, and a boat was seen patroling the harbor.

Members of the State Police Bomb Squad, dressed in protective gear boarded the vessel and located what they later identified as a "hoax device."

There were no injuries reported.  Police continue to investigate.

Battleship Cove's Facebook page says the attraction closed early on Fridayy, and will reopen Saturday at 9am.
