The Republican Convention has come and gone, not much of a bounce for Trump. A rather unorthodox list of speakers including "wa-wa-wa" Chachi from Happy Days (Scott Baio) but for the most part, Trump didn't blow his chance to show America a glimpse of what a President Trump might look like. His speech was consistent with what he'd been promising to deliver for months, albeit with a slight filter. The filter is essential for him to garner the support of well established Republican leadership.

His choice of VP seems to be a safe. solid pick if he is trying to solidify the conservative base. The two biggest negatives at the 4 day event were his wife Melania's parroting of Michelle Obama's speech (which she borrowed from Laura Bush who borrowed from.....yada yada) and Ted Cruz wore the political suicide vest by showing up, taking the stage in front of thousands of Trump supporters and refusing to endorse which turned cheers to boos faster than the time it takes Bill Clinton to find the biggest set of boobs at a Hooters. Cruz rolled the dice.

If Trump is elected and does well, Ted Cruz couldn't get elected as dog catcher in Jerkwater, USA. If Trump is a disaster from the conservative standpoint, Cruz is the 2020 front-runner. The aesthetics of him being booed in front of thousands of Republican delegates on international television and on the floor of the 2016 Republican Convention in Cleveland, Ohio is going to be remembered for decades, regardless of the future. Others  like Kasich and Jeb Bush refused to endorse but were smart and experienced enough to not show up and they are probably each sending Ted Cruz a case of quality micro-brew beer this week.

On to the 2016 Democratic National Convention in Philadelphia. The City of Brotherly Love. The big news ought to be Hillary's choice for Vice President, Virginia Senator and Governor Kaine. However, the Democratic convention is instead assembling on the heels of the news that the party chair-woman Debbie Wasserman Schultz had abandoned her role to remain neutral thoughout the Democrat primary and who instead conspired with other power players in the Democrat National Committee to undermine the campaign of the party's favorite underdog,

Bernie Sanders. Sanders campaign, part of what looked to be a pathetically weak field of challengers to Hillary Clinton last September, turned from cult following to party favorite. This was not supposed to be the case. He was supposed to be, like the rest, glass jawed, journeyman opponents who would help to prop up Hillary's message as an excuse to keep her visible during the early stages of the primaries.

Bernie never stood a chance. Last week Wikileaks gave to the world, thousands of hacked emails from the DNC, showing the constant plotting and planning to destroy Sanders and clear a path for Hillary Clinton's nomination.

And they say Trump has problems!!?

The party Chairwoman Debbie Wasserman Schultz is so stone cold busted that she is not even  going to speak at the Democratic Convention, instead choosing to hide like a snail in a shell to escape the shame which is possibly going to destroy all the the hard work she put in to help Hillary Rodham Clinton do what she does best; Cheat, lie, steal and do anything to gain money and power. The aesthetics of that will easily eclipse what Ted Cruz said and didn't do on the stage in Cleveland just a week before.
