Three Massachusetts filmmakers are hoping a fresh look at the 28 year old Highway Murders case will result in some new clues.

In 1988 and 1989, the bodies of nine women were found along or near area highways here on the Southcoast. No one has ever been prosecuted for the crime.

Filmmaker Aaron Cadieux of Dartmouth says his team has been working for the past 18 months, researching the case and interviewing key figures, like family members of the victims.

"it was refreshing to see how much support we've gotten from the victim's families, almost universally across the board. They've been very supportive of what we're doing, and we appreciate that because it does dredge up really bad memories for these people, but they feel like we do, that its a story that needs to be told," said Cadieux.

Dave Grochmal of New Bedford and Kitty Martin of Boston are joining Cadieux on the project, which they expect to finish sometime next year.

The filmmakers are encouraging people who think they have

information about the case to come forward and share it with them.
